Liverpool will travel to Deepdale to face Frankie McAvoy’s side Preston in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.  EFL has already scheduled the next round of the Carabao Cup. The next round will be commencing on the 25th of October 2021.

Preston comfortably won 4-1 against Cheltenham on their home ground. Where Klopp’s men play their next round after Liverpool had a 3-0 thumping win over Norwich.

With Liverpool’s superb win in the third round, Academy graduates Like Caoimhin Kelleher, Curtis Jones, Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton and Kaide Gordon, can expect to retain their places in the first team against the Championship side for the fourth-round fixture.

Liverpool Loanee Sepp Van Den Berg, who is currently playing for the championship side will be up against his parent club.

The fixture would also test Klopp’s team squad depth as it exactly fits in between Red’s Premier League encounter with Manchester United at Old Trafford and Brighton’s visit to Anfield.

This Season winner will automatically qualify for the 2022/2023 season of the UEFA Conference Cup.

Liverpool’s arch-rivals Manchester City will be looking to defend the Carabao Cup again. And interestingly, both Manchester City and Liverpool hold the record of winning the cup most times, with eight victories.

Travelling Liverpool supporters attending the match will accommodate themselves in Bill Shankly Kop, which was named after the Anfield icon as he is considered Preston’s great during his playing days.

The very first match between them was on February 10, 1894, in a FA cup tie which Liverpool won 3-2. And last time these two sides met each other in a competitive game was on January 3, 2009, also in a FA Cup tie where again Liverpool won 2-0. Moreover, proceeding in the 4th round the Reds will be yet again favourites to win the tie.
