Liverpool were able to overcome Cardiff City 3-1 to advance into the next round of the FA Cup. Let’s look at the Liverpool Cardiff Match highlights.

Liverpool struggled to break Cardiff’s block in the first half. Even though the Reds dominated the ball, they failed to have anything to show for it.

Liverpool started the game with an aggressive attitude, a staple whenever they play at home.

In the 4th minute, Keita played the ball to Jota who turned and took a shot only to be saved by Cardiff goalkeeper Dillon Phillips.

In the 24th minute, Cardiff came very close to breaking the deadlock. Joel Bagan received a cross ball from the right but his shot from half distance went wide.

10 minutes later, Liverpool came close again. Jota linked up well with Minamino, who then crossed the ball to Curtis Jones. But the youngster was too casual with the chance and skied it over the goalpost.

In the next 5 minutes, Jones and Firmino came close again, but have no end product to show for it. The half then ends after Jordan Henderson’s attempt.

Both sides make no changes during half-time. The second half starts with youngster Caoimhin Kelleher getting cautioned for a foul on Cardiff forward Mark Harris.

Eight minutes later, assist machine Trent Alexander-Arnold crossed from the right-hand side to meet a rising Diego Jota. Liverpool finally broke the deadlock. 1-0.

A few minutes after, a double change brought Harvey Eliott and Luis Diaz on. The superstar Colombian was set to make his debut.

Diogo Jota then misses a chance in the 60th minute to put Liverpool up by two.

Then in the 68th minute, Luis Diaz steals a ball from Perry Ng and set up Minamino for a brilliant goal to make it 2-0 for the Reds.

However, a few minutes later, he is replaced by James Milner. Kostas Tsimikas also comes off for Andrew Robertson.

Just six minutes after coming on, Robertson sets up the returning Eliott for the third goal.

In the 80th minute, owing to a Thiago mistake, who replaced Henderson, Cardiff player Rubin Colwill scores to make it 3-1.

The game then ends with the only other highlight being Luis Diaz going down on the ground in the 83rd minute. However, nothing serious comes out of it.
