Liverpool might let winger Federico Chiesa leave at the end of this season, but the Italian international is up for the challenge.

The Reds’ season has been a rollercoaster ride since Jurgen Klopp bid farewell and Arne Slot came in to lead the fleet.

Even though the Merseysiders have exited from the UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup and lost the Carabao Cup final, their Premier League campaign is still looking strong.

In 31 PL matches, the PL table-toppers have won 22, drawing seven and losing only two, accumulating 73 points.

Statistically, LFC need four more wins to get their hands on the PL trophy that they last won back in 2019.

The side looks charged up for the first title under the new Dutch manager’s management.

However, the Anfield executives are making some business decisions that have created a mixed feeling among the fans.

Multiple players on transfer list: Federico Chiesa out?

The first name on the selling list for the Anfield giants is Darwin Nunez. Despite being the most expensive signing at £85m back in 2022, the Uruguayan forward has massively disappointed with only a few instances of brilliance.

The next player in the firing line could be Luis Diaz. Despite being one of the best players in the squad, the Colombian might be sold to get the most out of his market value before his contract ends in 2027.

Mohamed Salah’s future at Anfield also looks shaky at the moment as his contract renewal situation remains ambiguous.

The Merseysiders could also sell injury-prone Diogo Jota if they receive a considerable offer.

However, regarding Chiesa, although there are multiple reports suggesting the Italian is already added for offloading, journalist Christian Falk has suggested otherwise.

Writing via the Daily Briefing, the German journalist revealed,

“Not True: Ex-Bayern candidate Federico Chiesa wants to leave Liverpool in the summer. He wants to fulfil his contract until summer 2028.

He was also not interested in the winter interest from Napoli, Inter Milan and Lazio because he wants to assert himself on Merseyside.

The fact that he has had problems so far is due to his two injuries. He wants to show Liverpool this season just how valuable he can be.”

The former Juventus forward has made 12 appearances across all competitions with only three starts, bagging two goals and two assists (stats via Transfermarkt).

Whether he stays or leaves will be decided in the next few months and the situation needs to be monitored.
