Liverpool agrees deal with a Man United target

Liverpool FC are set to sign a Benfica attacker, Darwin Nunez, who was highly rated at Man United, who wanted to land him at Old Trafford. But the player chose Liverpool over the Red devils.

Liverpool are ready for a busy summer. With a lot of players’ contract talks going, the Reds are also looking to inject new blood into the team.

Anfield hero Sadio Mane wants to leave the club to take up a new challenge. And Salah also is looking to leave the club next summer.

Liverpool has made quite brilliant signings to reinforce the attack. Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are examples of their brilliant recruitment.

But replacing Mane is no joke. And management has to make sure they sign a long-term investment, that has goals, assists, and titles written all over it.

Although it seems like Liverpool have hit quite a jackpot.

Liverpool ‘steals’ Nunez from Man United.

The Benfica star has sparked a lot of attention this summer after scoring 34 goals in all competitions.

Nunez shone in the Champions League as Benfica advanced to the quarterfinals. And he has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer season.

Man United were strongly linked to the player. Although they are by no means the only ones.

But United seems to have lost the player.

According to Record, reports suggest that Liverpool are willing to match Benfica’s £85 million asking price and appears to be close to completing a deal.

United could soon follow. But Nunez has already notified his present club of his desire to join Liverpool,.

That may be a major setback for United. And, more importantly, for Erik ten Hag as he is in desperate need of improvement ahead of his debut season as manager at Old Trafford.

A major reason why players are rejecting Man U is they won’t be playing Champions League next season. But Nunez decision can purely be based on the fact Liverpool are much bigger and at this stage better than the Red Devils.

And if this deal comes through, Liverpool will be smashing their transfer record fee which they paid for Van Dijk.
