Liverpool hosted Crystal Palace in the 5th game of the Premier League 2021-22 season. The Reds won the game with three goals to nil. With the brilliance from all the departments of Liverpool players against Palace, let us dive into the player ratings of the game.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – Player Ratings:

Alisson Becker (GK) – 8/10

Alisson showed why he was one of the best goalkeepers with a close save in the game’s opening minutes near the goal post. While his partnerships worked promptly with the new line of defence, he, along with Ibrahima Konate, had stopped many chances of the Eagles to score.

James Milner (D) – 8/10

James Milner had to fill the position of Trent Alexander-Arnold. As the versatile man donned a defender’s boot, he had shown his prowess in his encounter with the Palace’ forward Wilfried Zaha.

Ibrahima Konate (D) – 7/10

The Frenchman had a decent debut for the Reds. Benched on four occasions, Konate started in the game and denied Zaha and Benteke. Alisson also supports his defence to deny Palace a few chances.

Konate was sloppy at times, letting Zaha a chance to go for a goal.

Virgil Van Dijk (D) – 7/10

The number 4 has his presence felt on the game. Van Dijk guided the youngsters on the defensive line’s pitch, keeping a clean sheet in this milestone game.

Konstantinos Tsimiskas (D) – 7/10

The natural replacement for Andrew Robertson had another good game. Unfortunately, his antics on Benteke made him received a yellow card, and otherwise, he is strong at his position.

With an assist to his name, he nearly set up the first goal for the team, and he was effective in passing as well.

Fabinho (M) – 7/10

The Brazilian has a commanding position on the pitch. It was a great day making the game in command for the home team.

Jordan Henderson (M) – 7/10

The captain of the club had a start by replacing youngster Harvey Elliott. He threatened the Palace defence by making key passes to create the goals. It was another remarkable performance from the captain.

Thiago (M) – 8/10

The Spaniard had been a propelling force on the field. With his ability to change the course of the game with his pace and attack, he had a great impact on the pitch. His attack also troubled Guaita sometimes in the game.

An unfortunate injury had kept him out of the game.

Mohammed Salah (F) – 9/10

Mohammed Salah had received another yellow card in this game for removing his shirt after he scored, and he got all yellow cards for that reason for Liverpool. Salah was that pumped after scoring the 2nd goal and his 4th of the season.

In his landmark game, Palces’ defence put him in a tight situation to score a goal. He was lethal in the attack and climbed up the charts as top goal scorers with this game.

Sadio Mane (F) – 8/10

A huge pressure piled up with the previous performance of Mane. Being his landmark game as well, Mane missed a key pass by Tsimiskas. However, Mane kept his cool to get his 9th in a row vs. Palace, which is also record-breaking.

Diogo Jota (F) – 6/10

The Portugues forward was a great relief for the Kop during hard times in the last season. However, in this game, he missed a chance when a shot rebounded the ball off Guaita. He was replaced in the last 15 minutes by Curtis Jones.

Substitutes

Naby Keita – 7/10

He came in for injured Thiago in the 62nd minute. That volley in the 89th minute made the fans wow!

Curtis Jones – 6/10

He replaced Jota in the 76th minute. Again, he played his part for what the purpose brought him on the pitch.

Divock Origi – N/A

The legend replaced the captain. But unfortunately, came in the last few minutes, there was nothing much left for the player in the game.
