Liverpool tops the Premier League table alongside Manchester United and Chelsea after defeating Leeds United by 3 goals to nil. It was a match played with high intensity in an electrifying atmosphere.

Player Ratings:

Alisson Becker (GK) – 8/10

The Brazilian was quick and sharp to get on the ball to clear his lines as and when needed. Positioning was the key for him in this match.

Thus, with his perfect positioning, he was able to save an early shot by Rodrigo in the first five minutes. Moreover, Alisson was quick to get back to clear out a dipping shot by Patrick Bamford from the half-line.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 9/10

There might not be many Right-backs in the world currently, who can impact the game in the attacking department as he does. Delivering an assist in almost every match is becoming his hobby.

A pitch-perfect ball for Salah to score from a tap-in for the first goal. While it was his delivery from the corner which led to Fabinho scoring the 2nd goal for Liverpool. He created 5 key passes during the match, which is quite extraordinary for a defender.

Joel Matip (CB) – 8/10

Looked better as the game progressed. Matip made his presence felt while passing a crisp ball to Trent, who could roll the ball in the box giving an assist to his name. He was much more involved in this game, unlike his other games. Overall it was a decent performance from the Cameroon international.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 7.5/10

Missed a clear goal-scoring opportunity from a free header in the initial half. Van Dijk still shows signs of encouragement after returning from a serious injury. He looked composed as the game progressed.

Andy Robertson (LB) – 7.5/10

Wasn’t involved in the offensive department of the game but did quite well to fulfil his defensive duties. Thus, overall solid defensive performance from the Scotland captain.

Fabinho (CDM) – 9.5

He always finds himself in the right place. The Brazilian was exceptional brilliant in front of the back four to guard the attacking threat that Leeds posses. He finished the game having 5 interceptions to his name.

While getting on the scoresheet was a like putting a cherry on the cake. Overall, a perfect game for the defensive midfielder. His performance could simply be termed as the man of the match.

Harvey Elliott (CM) – 7.5

Beaing the part of starting 11 again, Elliott became youngest midfield player ever to start three consecutive league games for Liverpool [18y 161d]. However, his passing was a let down in the initial half but the game was overshadowed by a serious injury. Thus, Elliot was having a decent game until Pascal Struijk’s tackle ruined his day.

Liverpool fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for their young prodigy.

Thiago (CM) – 8

Finishing the game with 88% passing accuracy, Thiago knows pretty well how to control the pace of the game. Although, the Spanish midfielder looked a little lazy in the second half but the game was won by then. Thus, it was a decent performance by the passing king.

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 8.5

‘The master of right place right time’. The Egyptian got himself registered in the Centurion club of Premier League goals by scoring his 100th Premier League goal in just 162 appearances. In doing so,Salah became the second-ever African player after Didier Drogba to score a century of PL goals.

Havinng an eagerness to score always, the 29-year-old became a little selfish to score more. However, he never lacks the firepower always ready to make the deep runs and thus finished the game on high notes.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 7

Even though he got a goal to his name but Manne looked really selfish on the day. The senagel international had many chances to pass the ball to his other teammates while he was being gathered by the Leeds defenders but he never did so.

Thus, overall he took a lot of attempts to finally get on the scoresheet. Although he did trouble the Leeds defeders. A good game for him but Liverpool fans surely expect a lot more from him.

Diogo Jota (ST) – 7

It was a quite game for the Portugues unlike the other games he was unable to make his presence felt. Thus, Jota was eventually substituted in the second half. However, he looks in good shape though and can deliver a lot more in the coming games.

Substitute

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 7 (63 min.)

Being bought on for the injured Elliott, Henderson didn’t really looked much involved in the game. Looked tidy in passing while had a shot on target to his name.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CF) – 6 (82 min.)

The England international was brought on for Jota to replace the tired legs. But he failed to make his presence felt and struggled to fit in the role of center forward.

Naby Keita (CM) – N/A (93 min.)

Bought in the 93rd minute for Thiago but he really didn’t had much to do.
