Jurgen Klopp is not interested in selling Roberto Firmino this summer
Roberto Firmino is heading into the final year of his contract with Liverpool, and the Italian giants Juventus are showing interest but Klopp is not interested.
Roberto Firmino signed with the Reds in the summer of 2015, months prior to Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as the boss. Since then he has been the fan favourite, and also one of the smartest purchases of the club. He has been a key player in the past and also part of Liverpool’s recent successes.
The Brazilian is now in the final year of his contract at Anfield and he has to make a decision for his future this season.
The Reds have received 23 million euros from the Old lady for the 30-year-old Brazilian star.
Jurgen Klopp: Roberto Firmino not for sale
Bobby is one of the players who have been in Jurgen Klopp’s team since his appointment as the Liverpool boss. In his seven years at Anfield, Firmino has scored 98 goals in 327 club appearances. He has also won the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Carabao Cup and the FA cup with the Reds.
Klopp is a huge fan of Bobby and has praised the forward in the past for his role as the false nine in this side. Although he had a quiet season last year. But one cannot deny the fact that Firmino is the highest-scoring Brazilian in Premier League history. He still contributes with goals and assists and gains more attacking third possessions per game than any other forward in the league. The Brazilian can still offer a lot to the game.
His link-up plays are incredible whenever he does and he can step in if there is any dips in form of Nunez or Jota. Moreover, he can get the most out of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz on the turf. With Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino already left, Liverpool wants their star to stay back at Anfield.
However, Firmino has gone down the pecking order with the arrival of Diego Jota, Luiz Diaz and Darwin Nunez. Juventus are interested in the Brazilian and are planning to send another offer this summer with more playing time.
Liverpool and Klopp don’t want to sell him unless the clubs are willing to make big offers for the forward.
