Unlike other players who were knocked out of the World Cup in the early stage, Klopp takes a cautious approach in the case of Virgil van Dijk.

During the Red’s training camp in Dubai and then the Carabao Cup’s defeat against City, Klopp reintegrated his 5 world Cup representatives. But Klopp has taken a cautious approach with Virgil van Dijk’s return to action.

Klopp doesn’t rush Van Dijk

Darwin Nunez rejoined the squad in UAE. While Jordan Henderson and Fabinho both came off the bench against City. In case of the Aquaman, it has been a more patient approach.

As revealed by BBC sport, Van Dijk has played the third most minute for the club and country of any other PL player so far in the season. Only Tottenham’s Harry Kane(2,735) and Lloris (2,708) have clocked more than the Liverpool defender (2,698). While Alison stands in 4th place (2,544).

In the pre-match press conference, the German explained his concerns over misusing players in a “really tough schedule.”

“For the players who played a lot during the World Cup, the whole year will be incredibly intense.”

He also told to the reporters that

“ They have now three or four games more in a full packed scheduled anyway. That’s really, really, really tough.”

”We have to see how we deal with that and we will be really careful with all the information we get, but for the moment, everybody should be fine.”

The Netherland international is expected to come back on Monday alongside Joel Matip, who played 90 minutes against City. For Konate, a return won’t be possible until December 30 against Leicester.

With the Second half of the season approaching, Liverpool FC looks ready to face all the challenges.
