It will be for the first time since 2014 that the current Champions League winners, will play in front of the full-house Anfield crowd and Jurgen Klopp has a message for the Scousers.

The last time the two European sides collided at Anfield it was behind closed doors. The quarter-final decider in April 2021 was played in the empty stands. However, in that fixture, the Los Blancos went through a 3-1 aggregated win.

The recent encounter between these two European heavyweights was back in the 2021-22 season in the Champions League final and the Merseyside giants will be looking to settle a score this time around.

Klopp in press conference

In the press conference, The German boss said

“For tomorrow night, whatever we would have done at the weekend I would have expected us to fight with all we have.”

He also added

“You always work so hard to qualify for the Champions League, so I really think you have to cherish these moments. [Moments] where you just think ‘OK, that’s Liverpool-Real Madrid’. We all dreamt of that. We all did.”

While speaking about the 2nd leg, Klopp said

“I played in a full Bernabeu and that’s a pretty impressive audience as well, let me say it’s like this,”

Jurgen Klopp also had a message for the Anfield crowd

The Merseyside giant’s head coach expects a lot from the home crowd for the first leg.

“[Anfield] will help, hopefully, tomorrow night. I hope our people will give their absolute everything. I can’t wait to play the game, really.”

No doubt this Champions League fixture is going to be one of the classics. While recent league victories and Nunez back in training will boost Liverpool’s confidence coming into this tie. If the scores aren’t settled this time around they might never will be. Come on Reds!
