Jurgen Klopp explains one Liverpool player’s absence and admits he is “not in a happy place”

Jurgen Klopp explains the whole situation and what is happening with Fabio Carvalho as he addresses the press ahead of Liverpool‘s game against Newcastle today.

It’s been a month now since the Portuguese international last featured in a Reds shirt, and over three months since he made an appearance in the Premier League.

On Monday night, the 20-year-old was left out of the squad instead of joining Curtis Jones and Arthur on the bench.

On asking about his situation to the Reds boss, he said

“Fabio is a very young player, big talent, absolutely. He played well for us in a couple of games”.

Klopp further added saying

“Now it’s the situation where we have to make the squad and he couldn’t make it for the last one. That’s how it is, that’s the truth.”

“He didn’t play too often because, from my point of view, we needed different skills when we started or when we changed during the game.”

The Merseyside head coach on the young talent’s development said

“He improved a lot, he developed a lot, he’s good kid in the middle of the group, in the middle of the squad.”

The LFC no. 28 has played 11 games for the Reds where he scored 2 goals. The 20-year-old has a PrgC of 7 and a PrgR of 24.

The Portuguese has a bright future at Anfield but he needs time to develop and Klopp wants him to be patient and wait for the right time.

The German boss has full trust in the former Fulham midfielder.

Although the Liverpool head coach understands the youngster’s frustration as he said

“Obviously, he’s not in a happy place at the moment. You can see that on the pitch or when I see him.”

When the young led joined Liverpool way back in May last year, he said he was here to become the “Best Player in The World”. It’s just a matter of time until he has his Liverpool song.
