Liverpool witnessed a huge injury boost as Joel Matip and Curtis Jones returned to Liverpool training on Monday.

A few weeks ago, Jurgen Klopp thought that Liverpool’s injury issues were driven by “a witch in the building,” one who had been slow to depart the premises.

However, the new week got off to a positive start with training photographs showing both Matip and Jones exercising outside. Calvin Ramsay was also present, following the heartwarming 9-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Matip and Jones were the next players in line to return. Thiago is also “not too far away,” according to Klopp. Klopp made the announcement before the weekend’s game.

Two senior players being brought to the club is exactly what the Reds need as they prepare for a 19-game stretch starting in just 73 days. The Spaniard’s recovery continues apart from the entire squad.

Ramsay’s situation is a little different from that of the duo because he lost preseason games due to a “minor injury” that young athletes have “as they mature.”

Despite this, he appears to be moving in the right direction toward ultimately being a part of Klopp’s team after his summer transfer.

After being taken off from the game on Saturday at halftime due to a slight complaint, Harvey Elliott underwent an individual session. The manager was eager to stress at the time that Elliott “should be absolutely OK.”

Sepp van den Berg was not seen, which may have been because Blackburn “pulled the plug” on a deal since the defender expressed interest in moving to Germany. Van den Berg was set to go on loan to Schalke.

There were no more significant omissions. But young people Luke Chambers, Isaac Mabaya, Stefan Bajcetic, Dominic Corness, Bobby Clark, and Max Woltman were able to participate.

In his pre-Newcastle press conference on Tuesday, Klopp will give a more thorough report on the condition of his team’s injuries.
