Despite losing 1-0 to Inter Milan, Liverpool still qualified for the next round of the Champions League due to aggregate. Here are the player ratings from yesterday’s Inter Liverpool game.

Player Ratings Inter Milan vs Liverpool

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Alisson Becker (GK) – 7/10

Mostly untroubled for large parts of the game, Alisson was beaten by an absolute rocket he could not do much about. He made two saves and was good with distribution and aerial handling.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 8/10 (Man of the Match)

The 23-year-old had the most key passes (5) in the game. He also created one big chance and had nine recoveries. A solid game from the assist machine.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 7/10

The Dutchman had the most passes (77) in the game. He kept Lautaro Martinez under the wraps for most of the game. He was dominated in the air, winning all his duels and had six recoveries.

Joel Matip (CB) – 7/10

Matip hit the crossbar one and can be blamed for the Inter goal. He was good defensively otherwise, winning 3 aerial duels and making 2 recoveries.

Andy Robertson (LB) – 6/10

A standard affair from the Scot. Nothing glamourous and attacking side of his game seemed to lack.

Midfielders

Curtis Jones (CM) – 7/10

Given a chance in the first team, Jones showed some good touches in the first half. Always willing, but did slow down the Liverpool tempo here and there. Also ineffective in the final third.

Fabinho (CM)- 7/10

The Brazilian anchored the midfield and had a 96% passing accuracy. However, was sloppy in possession early on. Did force Inter to play aerial passes once he really started to dominate the game.

Thiago (CM) – 7/10

Played some really good passes and managed to create a few chances in the final third. However, he did lose the most duels (6) in the match.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 7/10

The Egyptian had a pretty decent game. He completed the most dribbles (4) in the match and played 2 key passes. However, he did hit the woodwork twice and should have had a goal to show for his efforts.

Diogo Jota (ST) – 5/10

Jota was very poor with the ball. He gave it away very cheaply at times and hardly came close to scoring. A poor performance from the Portuguese.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 5.5/10

Did show some signs of brilliance unlike Jota, however lacked quality and end product.

Substitutions

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 6/10

He added some energy to the midfield with a few fast changes.

Naby Keita (CM) – 6.5/10

He won a few balls well, kept the possession well and even played a killer through ball. Nice Cameo!

Luis Diaz (LW) – N/A

Did not get enough time to make an impact.
