Ibrahima Konate is on his way to France with an Injury, a return to Liverpool for the upcoming fixtures is clearly out of the question.

Konate has been out since the 3-0 friendly loss to Strasbourg on July 31. After falling down off the ball during the second half at Anfield. Though there has been no official update on Konate’s injury, the Liverpool centre-back is clearly not close to returning.

In an Instagram post. The defender was having lunch with his friends at the Italian restaurant Le Grand Amalfi in his hometown Paris. Therefore, he left all the spectators in a doubt about how serious his injury is and, when he is planning to return.

The 23-year-old not only missed the trip to Craven Cottage, but he may be out for the rest of August as well.

Ibrahima Konate‘s Injury

Konate was one of the senior players to start in the final pre-season friendly against Strasbourg at Anfield on Sunday. The Frenchman pulled up just before the hour mark and dropped on the turf, requiring treatment.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after the game immediately told reporters, saying

“it doesn’t look too concerning, We don’t know exactly yet.”

In the recent update, Klopp has expressed that it is a massive blow for the Reds. As the Liverpool, no 5 will be out for a while. Thus, the Merseyside club will hold Nat Philips transfer this summer, so he can cover up with Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

The 23-year-old was granted time away from Anfield while he recovers. But It’s unclear where the injury is and how long will he be out. Konate did not travel with the squad to London for Saturday’s Premier League opener, and will instead appear to be focusing on his rehabilitation away from the squad. However, Liverpool are not opposed to allowing injured players to receive treatment in other locations.

Those decisions are usually allowed for players with longer-term injuries. Which suggests that Konate will not be back soon. He is expected to be back by mid-September 2022. If that’s the scenario he’ll be easily missing four to five games before he eventually gets back to his full fitness.

Liverpool will play nine more games before the first international break, with two Champions League group games between them. The Reds will face Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Everton, Wolves, and Chelsea in their upcoming fixtures respectively.
