The second matchday of the champions league group stage saw Liverpool travelling to Portugal to face Porto on their home turf Estádio do Dragão on 28th September 2021.

The reds came with an unbeaten record against the Portuguese side, who have won thrice and drawn once against this opponent in their last four meetings in the European competitions under their current manager Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool Starting 11 had one change from their last game against Brentford at the weekend. As we saw James Milner replacing Trent Alexander Arnold.

In the 18th minute, Salah fires Liverpool ahead after taping in a rebound from the keeper.

With their home supporters behind, Porto was pushing hard but couldn’t break Liverpool’s dominant midfield possession.

A beautiful cross from Mr Reliable Milner, from the right side, finds his way to Mane across the Porto’s defence line and the keeper and left Mane with an easy tap in to put Liverpool two goals ahead at the brink of half-time.

UCL Group Stage: Liverpool vs Porto the scond half kick-off

When the clock was reaching the hour mark Salah Scores his second of the game and Liverpool’s third. A beautiful ball from Jones leaves him one on one with the keeper.

In the 74th minute, Porto striker Mehdi heads in past Allison to give Porto fans something to cheer.

While In the 67th minute Roberto Firmino comes in for Mo Salah, and in the 77th minute, the Brazilian finds the keeper out of his position and passes the ball into the net from 30 yards out to make the scoreline 4 -1. In the 81st minute, a deflected attempt finds Firmino who scores his second goal from close range.

Liverpool’s attacking trio finds the back of the net five times to give Liverpool a 5-1 win over Porto, Jones also had a brilliant game with three assists. 

Liverpool was dominant throughout the game and all the players had a good day at the office.
