A long list of attackers are linked with Liverpool, the latest to add to that list is Villareal winger Arnaut Danjuma. As some reports suggest Liverpool are closely scouting Danjuma.

The former AFC Bournemouth winger moved to Villareal last summer for a 25 million transfer fee. According to reports from Dutch citation Voetbal International, The Reds have tasked their scouts to attend the Champions League clash between Manchester United and Villareal in Old Trafford.

Liverpool are planning for the future, with the famous front three approaching thirty, the Reds are searching for their successors. Danjuma is regarded to be a smart fit in the Liverpool squad and a possible successor for Sadio Mane.

Mane is struggling since the start of last season and no more looks like the player he was a couple of seasons back. The 29-year-old forward will enter the final year of his contract next summer.

Thus, Liverpool will be having an interesting decision to make on whether to keep or sell the Senegal International.

Meanwhile, the Dutch International operates in the left-wing and likes to cut inside and offer a goal threat from central positions, similar to Sadio Mane’s profile.

Is Danjuma a right option for Liverpool ?

Danjuma has already experienced English Football with AFC Bournemouth. However, his first season was a disappointed one as Cherries got relegated to Championship. But in his second season with Bournemouth, he scored seventeen goals which turned out to be his breakthrough campaign.

Former AFC Bournemouth First team coach, Jonathan Woodgate stated (about Danjuma)

“I see him as doing what he wants to do in the game. He can go as high as he wants to, but he’s got to always want more, always try to be that best.”

The Dutchman has started life impressively for Unai Emery’s men, and could even earn a bigger transfer move.

Danjuma is primarily a left-winger but he can easily adapt to the right flank or through the middle as a second striker. Along with versatility, Danjuma offers pace, finishing ability, and unpredictable genuine skill. Moreover, he offers the work rate on and off the ball which ultimately appeals to Jurgen Klopp.

However, Danjuma’s contract runs until 2026 for the Europa League winners. Thus, the Spanish side is in no rush to cash in on the winger. It would be interesting to see how Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp snap him up to Anfield.
