Liverpool lost their opening fixture against the French side 3-1. However, one of the positives from the game was Youngster’s (Bajcetic) impressive & electric performance against Lyon. Moreover, Klopp is eager to see him around in the near future.

In starting 40 seconds Fabio Carvalho gave the Merseyside giants a 1-0 lead. Mohamed Salah had a glorious chance to double the lead from the spot kick but the French side saved it. A brace from Lacazzet gave OL a goal cushion. Calvin Ramsay gifted a penalty to secure The French giant’s comfortable win over LFC.

Bajcetic – A new star born against Lyon

The young Red’s midfield showed his true potential in the friendly match held in Dubai. Moreover, he was the only youngster who found his place in a star-struck starting lineup.

The 18-year-old showed his class on the field. Fans were impressed by the football maturity and the commitment the Spaniard showed on the field. The German genius seems to be very much pleased with his performance on the turf.

The English giants had a good starting 30 minutes. But after half an hour the Les Gones gave signs of being more hungry for the win.

Red’s loss a point of concern?

Lyon were desperate for the win in this fixture. On the other hand, Liverpool had a strong lineup but lacked sharpness all over the pitch. While James Milner wore the skipper’s armband for the Reds.

Before coming to this game Liverpool were unbeaten in their last 4 matches (L, W, W, W, W).

on the other hand, Lyon only managed 2 wins and a draw. They were having a record of W, L, D, W, L.

Thus, Liverpool were favorites to get past Lyon but the French side got better off the Englishmen not only domestically but also internationally.

Players that featured for Merseyside giants:

Kelleher(Adrian), Milner(Corness), Matip(Phillips), Gomez(Chambers), Robertson (Tsimikas), Bajcetic (Clark), Thiago (Keita), Elliott (Frauendrof), Carvalho (Ox-Chamberlain), Salah ( Doak), Firmino ( Stewart).
