Gary Neville has been proven wrong about Mo Salah claims, but the ex-Manchester United legend says the striker still “played” Liverpool.

Ever since coming from Serie A club Roma in 2017 Salah has been prolific for Liverpool. The winger has proved himself he is one of the top footballers in the Premier League and in the world.

Salah straight away was the Premier League’s top scorer in his first season with Liverpool. Moreover, he then went on to help the club become European and English champions.

Moreover, after the all speculations regarding Salah’s contract extension talk with Liverpool, the winger has signed a three-year deal with the Anfield club.

Excited about his extended stay at Liverpool, he says on the club website:

I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.

It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.

Yes, of course. I think everybody now, I can say in the last 10 days, has started to reach their peak after 30 or something. I am so excited for the next [few] years.

Yeah, it’s been… we won so many things together. We had some disappointments, but this is football. I have enjoyed my football here at the club and hopefully I will continue to enjoy it and win many trophies.

The Reds are celebrating after the star ended all speculation and signed a new deal to keep him at Merseyside until the summer of 2025. However, in the meantime, pundit Gary Neville sent a cheeky tweet to mock Liverpool.

Earlier when Salah’s future at Liverpool was up in the air, Salah was linked with numerous clubs including Real Madrid. Besides Sky Sports pundit Neville predicted Salah to leave Liverpool.

Neville on Sky Sports’ Overlap fans’ forum says:

I don’t think he will stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career,” “It’s my personal view. It’s always been that view but I could be wrong.

I think Salah’s got to experience Real Madrid, the Bernabeu – Real Madrid are going to come back, by the way.

I know it’s not great at the moment at Barcelona and Madrid but Salah is similar to those I’ve just mentioned, I think he has to have that on his CV at the end of his career.

Clearly, the former Manchester United full-back was wrong about Salah. However, with Reds fans all over the world happy, Neville had some other ideas and attempted to rain over Liverpool’s parade.

He tweets: “Salah has played them hasn’t he,” complete with a winking emoji.

But whatsoever, this summer transfer window getting better and better for Liverpool. Moreover, pretty sure, Neville’s usual frustrating days at Sky Sports Studio are gonna be back soon as Manchester United will be back playing when the season starts( and yes, I’m putting this with a wink).
