Gary Neville is against the Premier League decision, of restricting clubs to wear away kits on Boxing day.

The Reds are going to confront Leeds United at Anfield on December 26 and Shelter hoped to gain club support for their #NoHomeKit proposal on the same day. Shelter announced the campaign on Tuesday, urging clubs and spectators to

Ditch their home colours for their away or third kit, showing support for people who don’t have a safe home.

The former Man United legend is criticizing the Premier League for banning all the clubs from wearing their away kit.

While the football League has affirmed that clubs can wear away kits on the same day if they submit a definitive request. But apparently, the Premier League will not allow their clubs to do so. It is because the regulatory body has stated that it would violate its rules regarding kits. Henceforth, it is necessary for home teams to wear their home jerseys first and foremost.

Neville response to the Premier League

Almost every season, the Premier League receives a number of inquiries from charities. But at times they are unable to support all of them uniformly. Premier League officials were reluctant and one of their spokespeople had his say on this

Clubs are entitled to support charitable causes, and we encourage clubs to do so, provided it is in compliance with Premier League rules.

Shelter’s director of campaigns, Osama Bhutta, said the campaign aims to raise awareness about homelessness.

We believe ‘home’ means everything. We want to use the positive power of football this Christmas, and our shared connection to ‘home,’ to raise awareness of homelessness and what we can all do to fight it.

Bhutta believes that people who will engage in the #NoHomeKit campaign have a unique opportunity to make a difference that will unite the entire football community in the fight against the housing crisis.

Moreover, Neville has pointed a finger at the Premier League’s decision, believing that a Boris Johnson U-turn is possible if clubs in the English league nudge real hard enough.

Meanwhile is also took on Twitter to express his thoughts on this

Liverpool may be prohibited to wear their away kit against Leeds. Hence, it looks like Premier League won’t be flexible this time around. Thus, the toughest league is also one of the strictest in the current world of football.
