Michael Owen drops his prediction ahead of the crucial game

Owen has given his prediction for the clash on Sunday, he has predicted that it is going to be 2-1 for the Reds.

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table are only 1 point behind their today’s opponents.

Man City who have looked ‘solid’ for yet another season, have a good chance to extend their lead at the Top.

Owen’s prediction has come, considering Liverpool’s recent Premier League form. They have won 10 games in the trot and have also managed to keep 8 clean sheets in those games. But looking at the recent head-to-head record, the Pep Guardiola coached side has won the last 4 games against Klopp’s side in the League.

“The biggest game of this season, I can’t wait” – says Owen

Former great, Michael Owen has given a bold prediction favouring his former side to win 2-1 against City.

Here’s what he wrote in his column for BetVictor, on the teams’ Champions League matches

I thought City played well against Atletico in midweek, it’s obviously never easy or particularly enjoyable playing against Diego Simeone’s side. However, I think City aren’t quite firing on all cylinders in the final third, they haven’t been as prolific of late.

It was a good game in Lisbon against Benfica and Liverpool probably deserved that 3-1 win. It was probably an ideal warm-up game for Liverpool, Benfica tried to take the game to them.

He went on to write about the ‘sensational’ Luis Diaz, who could be the ‘main’ player in today’s clash,

I’ve been saying it since he signed, Luis Diaz belongs in this side. He’s given this side even more threat and I wouldn’t be shocked at all if he played a big part in this one.

Owen’s final verdict

“This game could go either way, but I’m going for Liverpool. I think they’re going into this with a bit more momentum than City and they have a little bit more attacking spark and threat. 2-1 to Liverpool!”

With both Liverpool and Man City coming fresh from their Champions League triumph, today’s clash could only get ‘more and more’ interesting.
