Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool: Preview
Liverpool have been in superb form this season. Moreover, after the EFL Cup success, the mammoth Quadruple is on for the club.
Klopp & Co. have produced some stellar performances so far this season and also even if they don’t play well they now win games. And with their current form and motivation, they will travel to Nottinghamshire to face the forgotten giants of Europe Nottingham Forest.
Interestingly, the Forest side are the second British club to win back-to-back Champions League, the other team being Liverpool.
Also two time FA Cup champions, the last time Nottingham Forest lifted the FA Cup was back in 1959.
What a story isn’t it? A club that’s been playing in the English second division since 1999, used to be European Champions back in the 1970s.
But this season, under their new coach Steve Cooper, could get back to Premier League. Previously, Cooper’s side have defeated two Premier League sides to set up a meeting with Liverpool.
The Forest have beaten Arsenal and Leicester so far in this season’s FA Cup. And also currently just a point behind for the Championship playoff spot.
Liverpool does have a real deal at the City Ground on Sunday for sure.
The Reds have had fairly comfortable ties in the competition so far. Klopp’s men won all three of their matches at Anfield against Shrewsbury Town, Cardiff City, and Norwich City.
Meanwhile, with a midweek victory over Arsenal to cut down Man City’s lead to just one point in the league standings. Klopp’s side are surely high on confidence going into Sunday’s game.
Also, the Reds have been handed a favorable draw against SL Benfica in the Quarterfinal tie in the Champions League.
Quadruple this season? fingers crossed.
