Dortmund not ready to sell Jude Bellingham amid Liverpool interest

Borussia Dortmund are currently not interested in selling their young prodigy Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window.

With Premier League giants Man United and Liverpool showing interest in the 18-year-old, Dortmund said they won’t be selling the player.

The England international currently has his contract run till 2025, and the German club is looking to extend it further.

Bellingham to stay at Dortmund

As both Liverpool and Manchester United made an approach for the young midfielder, Dortmund have given their response in form of denial.

Dortmund further said that they are working on extending Jude’s contract.

The German side is looking to take the offer with a higher salary and inclusion of his 16-year-old brother Jobe from Birmingham.

Apart from that, BVB does not have any intention to sell Jude Bellingham, as Haaland’s rumours to Man City seem a likely possibility. Thus, the Bundesliga club won’t be willing to offload two of their star players in one go.

According to Sport Bild, the German club does not want to lose Bellingham in the same transfer window. Therefore, they are redoubling their efforts to keep him happy.

The 18-year-old midfielder chose Borussia over United two years ago because he thought the club would help him in his development.

Jude Bellingham’s performance at Borussia Dortmund

The ‘sensational’ midfielder is having a great season with the German club, currently.

The England midfielder has already scored six goals and provided 11 assists within this term and looks in ‘red-hot’ form. He has represented Dortmund in over 80 games across all competitions in just two seasons.

Bellingham who has been in Gareth Southgate’s England side for the past 1 year, has registered good international experience under his CV.

Future option for Liverpool

Jude Bellingham currently fits well if employed at Liverpool, as all their main midfielders are above the age of 30 in the current squad.

Although that is not possible soon maybe after he finishes his time at Dortmund, Liverpool could be a viable option for him.

Bellingham could possibly see a return to English football after his time in Germany, just like his former teammate Jadon Sancho.

According to reports Real Madrid were also interested to get the signatures of the player, but Dortmund have shunned all offers.
