Liverpool Manager, Arne Slot has spoken up on the current situation of Uruguayan striker, Darwin Nunez in his press conference today.
Nunez has come under immense scrutiny this season and over the course of his Liverpool career, for his goal tally, the amount of chances he misses during games and how those [sometimes glaring] misses happen too.
While speaking ahead of Saturday’s match against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, Slot had some things to say when he was asked about the striker’s present situation at the club.

What Slot had to say about Darwin Nunez
During his interview, Slot made a case for the under-fire striker, while claiming that he did not believe Nunez is struggling with his self-confidence this season.
Slot also stated: ”For me, it is the life of a striker, sometimes you score, and sometimes you do not score.”
Slot also pointed out that the forward had not started every single game. According to him, “the most important thing for me is that we as a a team were able to score every single game, except for the Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Tottenham and the lone goal loss against Nottingham Forest earlier in the season at Anfield. So, it tells me that we have so many goals in our team.”
The Dutch tactician has also added that he believes Nunez will get back among the goals like he has done for the Reds in the past and will continue to do.
He added that he does not see the No. 9 struggling as much as the media paints it to be, while also stating that he is still involved in goals in the last few games as well.
Darwin Nunez has faced criticism after scoring just four goals in all competitions this season, with many claiming that such numbers are not reflective of a striker playing for a prominent club like Liverpool.
