Sky Sports confirms that Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold has not agreed to pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid despite several rumours surfacing.

The Reds are having a great season on the pitch with great results, ignoring the few inconsequential losses and minimal squad depletion.

However, off the pitch, the Merseyside giants have been facing several issues such as players’ contracts and inability to increase squad depth.

The three main pillars of this Anfield squad – towering skipper Virgil van Dijk, unstoppable talisman Mohamed Salah and ruthless vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold are all on the verge of leaving the club as their contracts expire at the end of this season.

So the top executives of LFC have the greater task of resolving these contract conundrums while also making a few impactful signings.

Trent Alexander-Arnold ditches Real Madrid for Liverpool

Sky Sports News provided a positive update for the Kopites via their live blog. The English media outlet wrote on their official website,

“Trent Alexander-Arnold has not verbally agreed a pre-contract to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.”

This update comes as a major boost of hope to the Anfield supporters as the narrative for quite a few time has been majorly negative.

Speculations can also be made that the Scouser is staying at the Merseyside and the contract renewal announcement might come very soon.

The update is really delightful because the 26-year-old is really influential in the this LFC squad. In 27 matches played across all competitions, Trent has amassed two goals and five assists.

Being the deputy to Van Dijk, the local boy also acts a source of motivation to the young lads of the squad and youths.

The England international also opens up many revenue opportunities for the club due to his stardom and personality.

Keeping Alexander-Arnold would only mean that Liverpool have a leader and a great player who could reach the heights similar to Merseyside legend Steven Gerrard.
