A deal to take Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic on loan for the rest of the season is looking to be completed.

In the summer of 2024, Liverpool sent Stefan Bajcetic to Red Bull Salzburg, where he has featured for 890 minutes across 18 games this season.

Following the departure of Jurgen Klopp, his assistant Pepijn Lijnders was appointed as coach of RB Salzburg, and he took the midfielder to the Austrian club.

According to reports, the Liverpool owned midfielder could leave Salzburg and move to the Spanish top flight in the January transfer market.

The Reds are not satisfied with the 20-year-old’s progress in Austria and have been seeking a new club for him.

Where to for Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic?

Spanish side Las Palmas are said to be one of the clubs keen on bringing Bajcetic to La Liga this month.

Las Palmas have recently signed Frenchman Andy Pelmard on loan for the rest of the season and are looking to do same for the Liverpool player.

They however have to be mindful of competition from La Liga rivals, Celta Vigo and Real Betis. The Spain U21 international was born in Vigo and played in Celta Vigo’s academy before joining Liverpool in 2020.

The report suggests that Celta Vigo’s interest is notable, and they will attempt to leverage on the family connection to tempt him to the club.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis see the Reds’ player as a valuable market opportunity and will be looking to pounce on a deal for him.

Liverpool, on their part, would be open to sending the player out on loan to Spain during this window to continue his development.

The next few days, with the window closing on February 3rd, will be key to defining where the young midfielder will end up, but Las Palmas are in prime position as one of the candidates looking to secure a loan move for the player.
