Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch couldn’t hide his smile when a journalist asked him if he’s about to join Liverpool.
As per Christian Falk, the Dutch player wouldn’t comment when asked about his links to Liverpool. Falk claimed that he spoke to the player after the match against Man City. While the player didn’t respond to the journalist’s queries, he did react which could be a positive for the Reds.
And now, while writing for CaughtOffside, the journalist has made a claim that the Reds’ supporters would love.
Gravenberch interested in Liverpool move?
While speaking, the journalist claimed that the Bayern man wouldn’t comment on his links to the PL.
“There was a meeting with Ryan Gravenberch’s management in Liverpool and in the Netherlands. So he is aware of Liverpool’s interest, the interest is concrete.
I talked with Ryan after the match with Manchester City about his interest and he didn’t want to comment on it. But he had a big smile on his face, so it was clear that the Reds’ interest is an honour for him.
He didn’t want to comment, of course, because he has a contract and he’s aware of Hasan Salihamidzic’s plan to keep him. But for sure, he’s not happy with the situation in Munich and he will be also discussing with Thomas Tuchel when they make the squad for next season, which I told you will be in a few weeks, and then they will find a solution for him.
Bayern Munich is saying no at the moment, but their position on the matter isn’t set in stone. If you can get money for him, they will think about it and you saw on his face that he would be very keen to be a player of Liverpool.”
With the recent rumours and many journalists even saying that the deal is almost done, it would be a delight for the Liverpool faithful. The ex-Ajax man could be the engine in the middle of the park that they’ve been lacking this season.
Besides, there is still a lot of work left to call him a Liverpool player. But there is no doubt about the Reds’ interest in him. Moreover, it feels like a possibility that he would be playing at Anfield the next season.
What would the midfielder bring to Liverpool?
The holding midfielder could be the heart of the midfield alongside Henderson and Thiago. He could even pair up with Fabinho making a two-man defensive midfield setup. Besides, the young, dynamic, and potentially inexpensive midfielder would check a lot of boxes for Klopp and his squad.
Moreover, the Dutch international seems to be in favour of the move, having failed to catch the light at Bayern. Also, he could be part of an exciting rebuild at Liverpool and the German could bring out his full potential at Anfield.
However, the Reds are in the market for other midfielders as well. And it seems to be a busy season off the field for the Reds.
