Liverpool head coach, Arne Slot has confirmed that central defender, Joe Gomez is quite far away from returning back to action, as he is not yet involved in training with the team.
Joe Gomez picked up a hamstring injury in the 5-0 win at West Ham last month and has since gone on to miss the club’s last three games across all competitions.
The defender is now set for a spell on the sidelines, as Liverpool would be without their No. 2 for a couple of weeks.

When can Joe Gomez return?
Ahead of the Reds’ visit to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, Slot said in his press conference on Monday that “Joe [Gomez] is quite far away from returning, as he’s definitely not training with the team yet.”
The hamstring injury could not come at a worse time for Gomez, who was finally getting his chance to play regularly under Slot, following the absence of fellow defender, Ibrahima Konate, who is expected to start against Nottingham Forest after being rested in the weekend’s FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley.
While also speaking on general team news, Slot also pointed out that Darwin Nunez is suspended for the clash against Forest, after the Centre Forward picked up his fifth yellow card of the league season in the Reds’ 2-2 draw with Manchester United.
The pair of Nunez and Gomez are the only two absentees ahead of tomorrow’s match and this comes as a huge boost to the club at this point of the season, with the Reds playing a match every midweek and weekend, over the next month or so.
Slot further stated that “it is definitely helpful for all managers everywhere around the world to have all their players available, this is almost what we have at the moment and that is a very positive thing right now because at the moment we play so many games.”
