Transfer News Recap: Gordon, Kvaratskhelia and Calafiori

Transfer news heats up as Liverpool are still linked with Anthony Gordon, Khivicha Kvaraskhelia and Riccardo Calafiori.

With the Transfer window open Liverpool still haven’t made their first signing under new manager Arne Slot.

With Pre-Season starting in July we can expect Liverpool to get active on the transfer market and make new signings available for Slot in Pre-season.

Anthony Gordon

Newcastle United are in a difficult position, they have to sell some of their players to comply with PSR rules.

Liverpool were offered a chance to sign Gordon in a swap deal which involved Jarell Quansah, But Liverpool reportedly rejected the offer.

Liverpool reportedly admire Gordon but view Quansah as a significant part of their future.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool appreciate Gordon but will only make a move if Newcastle drop the price.

It is highly unlikely that the Gordon deal will go through considering the current conditions, But the move to Anfield is not completely off.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

23 y/o Georgian winger is on the shortlist of many clubs, but it is highly unlikely that Napoli sell him.

Liverpool were linked with a move for Kvaratskhelia and were prepared to bring him to Anfield in case Luis Diaz leaves.

But Napoli manager Antonio Conte announced that Kvaratskhelia is not for sale and are doing everything to keep him.

Considering there is very little chance for Kvaratskhelia to leave, LFC will have to look at other options.

Riccardo Calafiori

The Bologna centre-back is expected to move this summer, with Juventus favoured to sign him.

Reports link Liverpool to Calafiori, as they want him as a replacement for Matip.

Reports now indicate that Real Madrid are also interested in Calafiori in case they fail to sign Leny Yoro

With Italy out of the Euros, we can expect to see Calafiori transfer news heating up.
