As Arne Slot’s era at Liverpool starts, he might have to face a familiar issue with the absence of Mo Salah during AFCON 2025.
Losing Mo Salah during January is an issue that LFC have been familiar with in recent years.
Liverpool To Loose Mo Salah Due to AFCON
AFCON 2025 will start in December, the earliest start date in AFCON history.
This time LFC will lose Salah earlier than usual, he will leave before December 21st to take part in AFCON 2025.
AFCON 2025 hosted in Morocco will begin on December 21st and end on January 18th.
If Egypt were to progress to the final Mo Salah would miss almost one month of football with Liverpool.
Mo Salah will miss 6 Premier League fixtures, with Spurs and Manchester United being key matches he will miss.
Leicester City (December 26), West Ham (December 29), Nottingham Forest (January 14) and Brentford (January 18) are other premier league matches he will miss.
He will also miss the Carabao Cup and FA Cup matches during this period and potentially the Champions League.
LFC will have to try and find a way to play without their star player.
Considering no attacking signings made by Liverpool we can expect to see Elliot filling in for Mo Salah.
Gakpo, Diaz and Szoboszlai are also options to use on the right in the absence of Salah.
