Three players Liverpool can offer in order to convince Tottenham for a Son swap deal
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Son Heung Min. And in order to convince to let their star player go, Liverpool are ready to offer 3 players in exchange.
It’s confirmed that Sadio Mane will leave Liverpool. The star journalist Fabrizio Romano made an announcement about the No.10’s decision.
The Senegalese has established himself as one of the best in the world. And was one of the undisputed trusted men for the boss.
Now, as he will leave. Liverpool FC want to replace that void as soon as possible. They already have Jota and Diaz.
But they will need for depth in the squad.
Son to Liverpool?
Son recently won the Premier League Golden Boot after a fantastic season with Tottenham Hotspur. And he is contracted to the north London club until 2025.
According to football London, he appeared on Liverpool’s radar earlier this year. And the Reds had been considering a move for his signature if Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Tottenham did, however, secure their participation in the competition. Implying that a deal for Son for Liverpool during the forthcoming summer window may be difficult to arrange.
They may, however, decide to offer a few of their current stars to sweeten the deal and persuade Spurs to sell soon.
With this in mind, Express Sport examines three possible options for Liverpool if they decide to pursue Son in the next weeks and months.
Sadio Mane
A swap deal including Mane, as he has informed Liverpool of his wish to depart before next season, would be the most obvious alternative. The 30-year-old would be a direct replacement for Son and has already established himself as one of the greatest players in the Premier League. With a move to Spurs potentially suiting all parties involved.
However, it is unclear whether Mane would be willing to join another Premier League team or want to join Bayern Munich. Bayern are reportedly interested in bringing him to the Allianz Arena this summer.
However, the idea of working under a world-class manager in Antonio Conte might be a bonus. As he would be a vital cog in the machine at Spurs. Rather than just one of numerous high-profile talents as he is at Liverpool.
Diogo Jota
Liverpool may give Diogo Jota to Tottenham in return for Son. With the latter able to provide an upgrade on the former.
Jota has been a critical player for Liverpool in recent years. Often keeps Roberto Firmino out of the team with his goals and link-up play. But whether Spurs will accept him in place of Son remains to be seen.
Jota is more of a central striker than a winger, and while Son can play in both places, he is most commonly seen supporting Harry Kane in a broad role at Tottenham.
Roberto Firmino
Firmino might be another option for Liverpool in the coming months as part of a half-exchange deal for Son. The Brazilian forward’s presence in the attack has been key to Liverpool’s success. But he is currently playing a bit-part role at Anfield and could benefit from a fresh start elsewhere.
Firmino is not a winger, but he and Kane might create a lethal partnership. If Conte opts for a two-up-top formation if Son is unavailable when the season resumes.
Spurs might be reluctant to exchange this season’s Premier League top scorer for a player who has only scored 20 goals in all competitions in the previous two seasons.
