Liverpool fans are more than excited to see Nunez in action, but it seemed they may have to wait for a while after the news of his injury.
Darwin Nunez is the most expensive signing in the history of Liverpool. The Merseyside Giants signed the forward from Benfica for a fee of around £85m.
And fans are more than excited to see how Klopp works wonder with the centre-forward.
The Injury scare of Nunez might not be worrying
Following the release of this report appeasing worries regarding the seriousness of Darwin Nunez’s injury, Liverpool fans may be permitted to breathe a sigh of relief.
The Uruguayan appears to be coping with a minor issue in a video shared by Ian Doyle on Twitter. And Lena Aschenbrenner’s supportive reaction is more than encouraging.
The former Benfica hitman may merely be suffering from a blister, as the reporter highlighted in an earlier tweet. If so, the 23-year-old shouldn’t be expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time.
A lot is expected from the forward who began with Uruguayan club Penarol. He relocated to Europe in 2019 and spent time with Spanish second-tier club Almeria before joining Benfica in September of that same year.
The 22-year-old attracted attention from Premier League clubs last season. He netted 34 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions and finished as the top scorer in Portugal’s top flight.
Nunez will stay at Anfield on a 6-year deal.
The incentives under the agreement range from milestones in goal scoring to winning the Champions League. But should Nunez play consistently in a Liverpool jersey, at least half of the possible add-ons are easily doable. In line with other recent forward acquisitions Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, Nunez’s contract calls for him to earn around £140,000 ($1684,000) per week.
