Jurgen Klopp says Joel Matip not fit to play

Liverpool are looking to part ways with Joel Matip during the summer transfer window. The former Schalke defender could see his time at Anfield come to an end as the club looks to add Croatian talent Josko Gvardiol to its defensive roster.

The 31-year-old joined the club in February 2016 on a free transfer. Now, he could be seen moving on to his next fate after serving the club for eight long years.

Certain reports from Football Insider have also asserted that the club would be willing to let go of the central defender for an offer in the range of £10-15m.

Liverpool to avoid Diogo Jota’s transfer in the summer

After missing more than half of the season through injuries, Jota has failed to perform up to expectations this season.

The Portuguese arrived from Wolves for a fee of $39m and had a bright start to his Liverpool career. But, the 26-year-old failed to make an impact suffering from serious injuries.

The winger’s recent dismal performances have fueled rumors of him being another player to be sold in the summer.

However, reliable journalist David Lynch has refuted all these claims. According to Lynch, it will not be very wise of the Reds to let go of the forward. Considering Roberto Firmino has decided to leave the club at the end of the season Jota shouldn’t be sacrificed.

Liverpool’s transfer window policy is quite clear. The priority of the recruitment team will be to bring at least two new midfielders into the squad.

Despite suggestions that the club needs to improve on the defensive end of the pitch, they are confident that solving the issues in the middle of the park will have a transformative effect.

As it stands, after acquiring the players that provide a decent cover to the back four is when the board will look to recruit players in other positions.
