Report – Liverpool to pay £69.4million for signing after player said goodbye

Liverpool are on the verge of signing Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, who has already said his goodbye to fans and teammates.

Farewell at Brighton, Hello Liverpool!

Mac Allister played his final home game for Brighton, bidding farewell to the fans, and according to TyC Sports, he is now set to join Liverpool. According to sources, Liverpool will pay a fee of around £69.4 million for the 24-year-old midfielder.

Mac Allister made a substitute appearance in Brighton’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City, receiving a standing ovation from the supporters. After the match, he was seen sharing an embrace with Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola’s Embrace Fuels Transfer Intrigue

Manchester City fans noticed the interaction between Guardiola and Mac Allister, adding further intrigue to the transfer saga. Despite Liverpool’s strong interest, Manchester City are reportedly considering making their own bid for the talented midfielder.

This development could complicate Jurgen Klopp’s plans to revamp Liverpool’s midfield following a disappointing Premier League campaign. However, Liverpool may not be able to offer Mac Allister Champions League football, whereas Manchester City remains in contention for the tournament.

Guardiola praised Brighton for securing a Europa League spot after the match, highlighting the quality displayed by both teams. He told Sky Sports:

“Exceptional game. Congratulations to Brighton for their deserved qualification to the Europa League.

The game we played, 48 hours after we drank all the alcohol in Manchester, 48 hours later we behaved and we showed why we were the champions against that team.

We showed what we have done with and without the ball. I didn’t see one drop in our intensity and idea. They had chances, we had chances, we scored a goal, they scored a goal.

Both teams want the ball, both teams want to press. The keepers are fundamental in this game. The quality they have, they are an exceptional team.”

Mac Allister Shines at Brighton

Mac Allister has been an influential player for Brighton this season, contributing to 12 goals in the Premier League. The club’s Europa League qualification is a historic achievement for Brighton.

While a move to Liverpool would be a significant step in Mac Allister’s career, Liverpool’s inability to provide Champions League football next season may be a determining factor.

Jurgen Klopp needs to strengthen his midfield options promptly to bounce back from their recent setbacks and prepare the squad for the upcoming campaign.
