Pressure grows on FSG, as owners are not happy with Liverpool player
The future of Mohammed Salah took a new turn at Liverpool as owners FSG are now in a big dilemma regarding the player.
Liverpool star Mo Salah was the talk of the town throughout the last season. His goal-scoring abilities and his contract extension talks were all over the news. The winger’s goals have never been a problem for the Liverpool board but his demands for the new contract indeed making owners sweat.
Why are Liverpool owners FSG upset?
Mo Salah is reportedly ready to ditch Liverpool in the near future. The Egyptian forward made up his mind if he does not agree to a new deal, a move to a Premier League club is a sure option for him.
Salah who will turn 30 in a couple of days’ time, his current contract expires in 2023.
According to The Athletic, the former Chelsea man could potentially join another Premier League outfit on a free next summer.
But according to one journalist, the Merseyside club’s owners are not happy with this development.
Salah prefers is to remain in England and thus the Premier League, rather than pursue a move abroad. It remains to be seen which clubs would be able to afford Salah if a new contract is not agreed upon.
Meanwhile, Graeme Bailey’s report on Anfield Watch says Liverpool’s FSG views the threat of Salah joining another English club as a ‘clear tactic’ from both the player and his representatives to get their own way, with the Reds hierarchy not responding well.
With no progress in regards to Salah signing a new contract, the winger snubs any attempts to prise him out of Anfield during the upcoming transfer window. He has expressed full commitment to Jurgen Klopp’s side for 2022-23. Moreover, he is adamant that his head won’t be turned by any of the other European heavyweights.
Whilst Salah has committed his short-term future to the Reds, the same cannot be said of colleague Sadio Mane.

Sadio Mane who has already informed the club of his desire to leave this summer has now revealed that he will do ‘what the Senegalese people want’.
Responding to questions regarding a poll circulating on social media in Senegal about Mane’s future, Mane responds,
Like everyone else, I’m on social media and I see the comments.
Isn’t it between 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese that want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We will see soon! Don’t be in a hurry because we’ll see this together.
The 30-year-old enters the final 12 months of his current Liverpool contract in the coming weeks. With no extension currently being agreed upon, the forwards looking for a possible exit from Klopp’s squad.
