Liverpool becomes the first team to defeat Crystal Palace in 10 games in a row. The Merseyside giants held the high-flying eagles at Selhurst Park. Let’s have a look at the player ratings as Liverpool beats Palace by 1-3.

Another victorious night for the boys in Red as Liverpool close down the points in the title race. With another 3 goal performance in the Premier League. A brilliant performance in the first half which gave Liverpool 2 goals. But after the break, the eagles displayed a dominant performance which led to a goal, and Liverpool held their ground before Fabinho converts from the spot.

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Allison Becker (GK) – 9/10 (Man of the Match)

An outstanding performance from the Brazilian keeper, he showed why he is one of the best keeper in the world. Without him, Liverpool would have lost. He saved Liverpool on more than 5 occasions and two brilliant ones to stop Olise. He had nothing to do with their first goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 7/10

Well, not a performance he would have expected after their last game in North London against the Gunners. The Liverpool right-back was not sharp this Sunday but had a dominant first half but struggled in the second half. His quick thinking and a brilliant pass to Jota led to the penalty which gave Liverpool the third.

Joel Matip (CB) – 6/10

Matip was not at his best as he struggled in physical battles, giving away an open chance to Olise where Allison comes to the rescue. His poor header opened up the defense and led to Palace’s goal.

Virgil Van Dijk(CB) – 7/10

The dutchman scored a bullet header to give Liverpool the lead. He scored his second goal of the season. Defensively he wasn’t at his best as players were running past him especially it was a difficult time in the second half when the Eagles kept on attacking as the Reds failed to hold possession of the ball.

Andrew Robertson (LB) – 8/10

Two assists for the Scottish left-back. brilliant from the corner to find Virgil and a beautiful cross to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the second. he was strong defensively and held the left flank strong.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CM) – 8/10

Another matchday another Goal as Fabinho converts from the spot-kick to give Liverpool the most needed goal of the night. A brilliant and dominant performance as usual from the Reds defensive midfielder. As he held the play brilliantly in the first half. and he was pressed by the eagles in the second half to stop Liverpool from having Possession in the midfield.

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 6/10

The skipper is still trying to get his form back. A decent performance couldn’t press forward when Palace was dominating in the midfield. Had a couple of moments his shot was wide some good passes.

Curtis Jones (CM) – 7/10

A promising performance from the 20-year-old. Beautiful touches in the first half, but struggled in the second but played the full 90. Good to see him performing constantly.

Forwards

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (RW) – 7/10

The Englishman started out in the right and was brilliant with his runs. He was calm and sharp while controlling the ball before firing past Guaita. He has scored thrice in his last four starts. subbed at the one-hour mark, a good day for the winger.

Roberto Firmino (ST) – 6/10

The Brazilian was not at his best, he found pockets in between the defense. opened up the opposition but couldn’t find the finishing pass.

Diogo Jota (LW) – 6/10

He was active in the first half, and quiet in the second. He caused Palace defenders a lot of problems with his pace and positioning in the box. His run and colliding with the Keeper gave Liverpool the penalty which was converted by Fabinho.

Substitutes

Takumi Minamino (RW) – 5/10

Comes in for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 60th minute, Couldn’t get into the game at all. Offered very little to the game.

James Milner (CM) – N/A

He came in the 90th minute for Firmino, Played only a few minutes.

Joe Gomez (CB) – N/A

Came in for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 90th minute. had some good defensive moments and came out on top.
