Liverpool will travel to North London to face Tottenham Hotspurs for Super Sunday Premier League fixture. Tottenham under new manager Antonio Conte are finding defensive stability. But it will be a big test when they face the free-scoring Liverpool side.

The host have been affected by the Covid19 outbreak and their previous three games in all competitions have been postponed.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are yet to miss any game even though recently three of their players were tested positive with Covid.

Tottenham vs Liverpool: Match Preview

Liverpool are currently flirting with the top position in the league, and are currently in the second position in the league standings. Meanwhile, Tottenham are currently in seventh having played three games less than the Reds.

Spurs find themselves in a strange position with zero games played in the last two weeks for the Covid19 outbreak. December is considered a busy period for the Premier League calendar. But whether these two weeks off for Spurs is helpful or a hindrance on Sunday’s game, only time will tell.

Liverpool are currently the highest goal-scoring side in the league. Klopp’s men are currently enjoying the longest run of scoring of at least a goal in the last 32 games, which indeed is a club record.

And certainly, The Merseysider are clearly a step ahead of Spurs. Tottenham have lost to Liverpool in the previous six games. And registered just one win in the last 17 Premier League meetings.

Since Klopp & Co. lost in Wembley 4-1 in away fixture in 2017-18 season, since then The Reds are on longest ever away winning run against Spurs in the League history (3).

And moreover, Liverpool’s so far only defeat of the season happens to be against a London-based side and since then The Reds have been prolific and setting records in each and every game.

The Club from Anfield, have registered goals in their last 26 away games in all competitions, the longest run in their history.

It will be intriguing to see how Italian genius Conte sets his team against a Liverpool side who have recently triumphed 2000th English Top-flight with a win against Newcastle.

Team News

Divock Origi, Nat Phillips, Adrian, and Harvey Elliott will continue to remain sidelined for the London trip.

Meanwhile, Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho, and Curtis Jones will again surely miss the game. Liverpool are still waiting on confirmation of “suspected” Covid positive tests of the trio.

Klopp has a decision to make on the selection of the striker to lead the attack. Roberto Firmino has returned to first-team action after recovering from a hamstring injury. The Brazilian has registered previously five goals in the last six meetings with Spurs.

But surely, with Diogo Jota’s red hot form, the Brazilian will find himself on the bench.

Liverpool probable starting lineup:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane

Predicted Line Up, Liverpool vs Tottenham

Tottenham vs Liverpool: What Anfield Home Predicts

Conte’s Spurs who haven’t played in the last two weeks and now they face a sharp-looking Liverpool side. Tottenham on their own home turf could find themselves tarnish against the visitors.

Meanwhile, the visitors are not in full strength with their own recent covid issues. And tired legs might come into play for The Reds.

But surely with their current scintillating form and presence of prolific goal scorers up front, visitors should march with a 2-1 win in Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.
