Naby Keita is back in the training for Liverpool ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash against the Portuguese side FC Porto.

Keita scored a stunning goal for Liverpool against Crystal Palace. He was featured in the Liverpool squad against Norwich in the league cup and picked up an injury. This made him miss an outing to the Brentford game.

The Guinean International, who picked foot injury in his last game, had recovered and is training with the team. The team is ready to travel to Porto as part of the UEFA Champions League Group-B game. Keita joined the team at the AXA training ground today in the afternoon.

How important is Keita for Liverpool against Porto?

Naby Keita has a shooting accuracy of 67% in the four games he played for the team. He also made 100 passes with 1 big chance created. Discipline-wise, he had committed four fouls, and that did not lead to any yellow cards.

Defensively, he kept ten tackles with a success rate of 70%. In addition, he recovered the ball 8 times while winning and losing 11 duels. However, he lost aerial battles three times in the game he played in Premier League this season.

He is expected to play in the team for Porto in UCL. Liverpool faced Porto in UCL 6 times, and the Reds have never lost against Porto while wining the clash on four occasions. Liverpool scored 16 goals in five games. The last times both the teams clashed were in the 2018/19 UCL Quarter-finals, where the Reds scored 6 goals in both legs and conceded only one goal.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will also be welcoming Manchester City to Anfield at the weekend in the Premier League. Thus, squad rotation will play an important role for Jurgen Klopp in the upcoming fixtures. While Keita’s quick recovery will be welcomed by the Reds as he can be a very handy player when it comes to the offensive part of the game.
