Despite multiple transfer rumours, the football star has chosen to stay with his club. Now, due to the current scenario, LFC will have to replace their potential target with someone else.

Liverpool will have to look for options after missing out on Marc Guehi

The 2024-25 Premier League is going on, and the Reds are aiming for the trophy under the guidance of the Dutchman. Arne Slot has done everything to prepare the squad for the worst, still, he lacks in recruiting new talents.

Since Marc Guehi will not be leaving Crystal Palace anytime soon, Liverpool will have to set their sight on someone else now. The main reason why LFC wanted Guehi was much more than just signing a new face on their roster. Slot could really use his help to reinforce the existing defense line. First of all, LFC would not replace Joel Matip now.

So, where could Marc Guehi have been useful for Liverpool in creating a solid defence line-up? Right now, Virgil Van Dijk might be the heart of central defence, but he has an uncertain future in Anfield. Ibrahima Konate is our centre-back, but he has a record of going injury-prone.

Guehi has experience playing in the Premier League; he has 22 clean sheets, moreover, his ability to play on the left of a center-back pair is impressive.

The only major roadblock before Guehi’s news of staying was his £65 million price tag. Otherwise, Marc Guehi could have been the best option for Liverpool in the long run. Considering the English International’s records at Euro 2024, you can see why he is the best and most reliable young Defender out there. Now that Marc will stay at Selhurst Park, the transfer process remains out of equation.

Marc Guehi will be staying at Crystal Palace

The 24-year-old English International defender is a pretty popular Center Back and LFC were very keen on signing this star due to his records. However, Fabrizio Romano confirmed through his tweet, that the No. 6 will be staying loyal to his team. According to multiple reports, Liverpool had a strong interest towards Marc Guehi, the Crystal Palace ace.

The team has already placed themselves in deep trouble after selling Joachim Anderson to Fulham. If Marc Guehi left Crystal Palace to join Liverpool, it would significantly decrease their strength in defense. Mainly due to this issue, Oliver Glasner had to look at the situation seriously.

The Crystal Palace boss expressed his joy and his words at the press conference on Friday confirmed that the star is staying.

“Yes I can confirm. But I was never in doubt, Congratulations to our owners because they didn’t give in. Thank you to Marc, he was always open with me. All the rumours didn’t influence his performances. He always told me that he’s not pushing to leave Crystal Palace and that is always for me the most important thing.”
