As confirmed by Liverpool, young winger Kaide Gordon has joined Championship side Norwich City on a season-long loan deal for the 2024-25 season.
The summer transfer window of 2024 has been rather disappointing for the Reds with multiple failures and an inability to sign a proper defensive midfielder.
Although the Merseyside club signed Federico Chiesa, a long-term target, it is not fruitful at the moment and does not complement the current game plan of Arne Slot.
Amid many players leaving the club for loan moves elsewhere, another young Red has joined them.
Kaide Gordon joins Norwich City on loan
The Anfield giants confirmed via their official website that the youngster has joined the Canaries on a season-long loan deal.
Gordon would not have gotten much playtime at the Merseyside due to their stacked-up attacking line especially after Chiesa joined.
The left-footed right-winger has followed his fellow Reds teammate Ben Doak to the Championship who joined the second-tier English team Middlesbrough in search of game time.
The 19-year-old signed for the Anfield side back in 2021 aged 16 years. Quite coincidentally, he got his senior Reds debut later that year against Norwich City in an EFL Cup match.
At just 17, he also became the Merseysiders’ second-youngest goalscorer and their youngest-ever scorer in the FA Cup when he scored against Shrewsbury Town in January 2022.
However, his career halted for a while as he suffered several injuries and growth issues that sidelined him since January 2022.
But he made it to the senior Liverpool bench as the club faced Toulouse in the Europa League last season.
At Norwich, he will surely get some playtime to improve himself and prove his worth as they recently sold their star winger Abu Kamara to Hull City.
This loan move will be crucial for his development and Kaide Gordon could even become a Liverpool starter in the future.
