Liverpool academy winger Harvey Blair has attracted the attention of six clubs after his surprise first-team debut and he might get a loan move this season.

Blair Joined the Liverpool youth academy in 2015 at the U-12 level. And he got an unexpected start for the Liverpool senior team under Jurgen Klopp in 2021.

The chance came during a Carabao Cup match against Preston North End. The coach gave resting orders to Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. Also, Kaide Gordon was not available for the match. The Reds won the match 2-0.

But since then he remained in the U-21 team and did not get another chance to play on the senior team. Although he had injuries throughout the 2022-23 season, he started 8 games out of his 18 appearances. He scored 5 goals and provided 1 assist across all competitions (stats via Transfermarkt).

Now new reports suggest that the 19-year-old might be getting further senior-level experience as clubs in England and Scotland are eyeing to sign him.

Liverpool to sell young winger Harvey Blair?

Former Berkshire Live journalist Jonathan Low tweeted saying that Reading were ‘looking at’ the English winger for a potential move. He wrote,

“A bit of transfer news to bring #readingfc fans – have been told Royals are looking at Harvey Blair from Liverpool and Norwich’s Abu Kamara re potential loan moves for next season.

Both are 19. Kamara scored 13 in 15 for the Canaries’ U21s in PL2 last year.”

Another report by journalist Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider that English League One side Portsmouth, Burton Albion, and Leyton Orient were also interested alongside Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

Liverpool are well rounded in attack with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Luiz Diaz, and Cody Gakpo. The players are versatile enough to play across the front line.

Also, the new signing Dominic Szoboszlai along with Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot, Kaide Gordon, and Ben Doak are also capable to feature in the front line.

Players like Fabio Carvalho, Rhys Williams, Harvey Davies, and Calvin Ramsey have departed on loan deals for the next season.

So it would be fair to say that he should also get a loan deal to improve further. This could also possibly secure him a place in the Liverpool senior squad.
