Liverpool Closing In On Kubo And Bremer

Liverpool are gaining confidence in securing a double transfer this summer, targeting Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo and Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.

New manager Arne Slot, yet to make a signing, is focusing on bolstering the squad with a central defender, a deep-lying midfielder, and a new attacker.

Slot acknowledges the need to prepare for Mo Salah’s eventual departure and is eyeing Kubo, who could cost €65m.

Current Liverpool star Wataru Endo is expected to play a crucial role in convincing Kubo to join, providing support and easing the transition.

Endo’s Presence

Wataru Endo’s presence at Liverpool is seen as a key factor in facilitating Kubo’s move. Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness highlights the importance of Endo’s role:

“Endo could be crucial. Him being at Liverpool means that Kubo won’t be by himself, there’ll be someone there who can speak and guide him in the right direction.”

The addition of Kubo, along with his potential commercial benefits, could significantly enhance Liverpool’s attacking options, especially as they plan for Salah’s future departure.

Strengthening Defense

Liverpool’s interest in Gleison Bremer stems from the need to strengthen their defense with Joel Matip’s departure and Virgil van Dijk nearing the end of his contract.

Bremer, regarded as one of Serie A’s best defenders, is valued at €59m by Juventus.

Slot admires Bremer’s capabilities, and Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes is evaluating the transfer’s feasibility, including the player’s character and wage demands.

The Reds are confident that a deal for Bremer can be negotiated, enhancing their defensive solidity for the upcoming Premier League season.
