Liverpool to extend sponsorship deal with their travel company

Liverpool is in talks with travel company Expedia to extend their sponsorship agreement.

Liverpool FC and Expedia are in discussions to extend the terms of their sponsorship agreement. Which is currently in effect through the end of the ongoing season. The deal is worth £10 million net per season, and the Reds are wearing the American travel and tourism company’s logo from 2020. Representatives from both parties are negotiating a new contract.

Expedia, the Seattle-headquartered American online travel shopping company became a Principal Partner of the club and the Official Sleeve Sponsor for their matchday kits in October 2020

Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan described how well the partnership is progressing and confirmed that the club is in talks to extend it. Moreover, the extension process will be similar to that of a “principal partner.”

Liverpool Sponsorship deals

Earlier this season, Liverpool was in talks for sponsorship with a cryptocurrency firm. There were many speculations that Liverpool could change their shirt sponsorship from Standard Chartered as their current deal comes to an end in 2023. Therefore many companies are in talks with the Reds.

Former Arsenal and Everton player Kevin Campbell shared his thoughts on this potential partnership.

“Crypto is the way forward and people better get used to it. They better get used to it.

‘Everything is going digital whether people like it or not. Cryptocurrency is coming. It is all coming.

I’m sure if Liverpool are the first to do this sort of deal, they won’t be the last. Other clubs will follow, 100 percent. Money talks at the end of the day.

In contrast, the club extended their contract with Standard Chartered in July. Putting an end to speculation about a crypto-firm sponsorship. Standard Chartered took over from Carlsberg in 2010 and has been on the front of Liverpool shirts ever since. Liverpool announced a new four-year extension to their shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered Bank. The deal represents a significant increase on the current £40 million a year contract. It will start in the summer of 2023 and continue until the end of the 2026-27 season.
