Liverpool teenager Stefan Bajcetic signed his first professional contract

Stefan Bajcetic penned his first professional contract for Liverpool today. This is a significant achievement for the youngster, who came through the ranks.

The Reds brought the teenager from Celta Vigo in December 2021 for €250,000 who then joined Liverpool’s U16’s.

The teenager made a breakout in the U18’s while he was 16 years old and has played the majority of this season as a CB. His efficient passing and ability to bring the ball from the back have stayed out. Manchester United were eyeing the youngster, but Liverpool, who had been scouting him since 2019, were eventually fortunate to receive his facilities.

Bajcetic has previously represented his birth country at the national level, earning three caps for the Spain Under-18 team.
This season, he has mostly played for the Liverpool Under-18s. He has also played in the Premier League 2, an under-23 tournament, and the UEFA Youth League. Bajcetic started Liverpool’s UEFA Youth League game against Porto earlier in the week, scoring in the 4-0 victory.

Who is Liverpool sensation Stefan Bajcetic?

Born in Spain, Stefan has Serbian ancestors. His father, Srdan, was also a professional footballer for Celta, Red Star Belgrade, and the Serbia national team.

A versatile player, Stefan can play anywhere in the defence as well as in midfield. Ever since joining the Reds youth system he has made 8 appearances in U18 PL and netted 1 goal and an assist. Moreover, he has made 3 appearances in UEFA Youth League and scored a goal this week(stats via Transfermarkt).

The Starlet has immense potential who was also able to gain minutes in Premier League 2, thus making 2 appearances for the same.

Liverpool brought in a number of foreign teenagers last summer. Fabian Mrozek, Mateusz Musialowski, and Marcelo Pitaluga with Stefan being one of the additions to the youth side.

Seeing his potential, Stefan is yet another teenager who can breakthrough in the first team. After making his debut in PL2, he’ll surely be looking to impress Jurgen Klopp. Nevertheless, the lad still has time and it’s too soon to speculate his quality.
