Liverpool team news ahead of the clash against Arsenal

The Reds take on the Gunners with some major doubts ahead of the clash. Here’s the team news for Liverpool vs Arsenal clash:

Liverpool handily beat Brighton but were given a scare when Mohamed Salah was subbed. Initially, it looked like it was planned or even tactical. But Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mo Salah was injured. It is a big concern for the Reds as, Mo Salah is instrumental to Liverpool’s season.

Arsenal vs Liverpool: Team News – Klopp comments on Mo Salah’s injury

The Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said,

He thinks it’s not serious but you can see when Mo Salah is sitting down then something is not 100 per cent right.

I think it was the situation before when he hit the ball and got blocked – he wanted to shoot and got blocked and I think the foot got slightly overstretched. We have to see.

In our opinion, Mo Salah must be given a rest. Or if need be, introduced later in the game. As clashes against Manchester City and Champions League ties are more important still. Even without Salah, Liverpool is still formidable and the Reds also have an aggregate lead of 6-0 against the Gunners this season. Moreover, Liverpool also has Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane, and Luis Diaz to add firepower to the attack.

However, Mohamed Salah’s injury isn’t the only concern right now. Ibrahima Konate is also uncertain to start. Although Jurgen Klopp generally favours Joel Matip in the Prem, his absence takes away options from the manager.

Everyone else is fit and ready to start. Thiago was given some game time at Brighton in anticipation of the trip to the Emirates. Meaning Naby Keita will start on the bench for the clash.

This game might become even more important if Man City drop points to Crystal Palace at home (one can dream).
