Adrian’s time At Liverpool: ‘Underrated’!

Adrian is reportedly set to leave Liverpool, after rejecting a new contract extension at the Merseyside.

According to reports in Spain, the goalkeeper is keen on returning homeland after spending five years in Anfield. Adrian was signed on a free transfer from West Ham in the summer of 2019.

In his first season, he helped Liverpool win the Premier League, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup as he served as the second-choice keeper to Allison Becker.

But the emergence of Caoihmin Kelleher, saw Adrian fall further down the order to become third-choice keeper to Kelleher and Allision.

His last appearance for Liverpool arrived in July 2022 in a 3-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield.

In total, Adrian has made 26 appearances for the Reds. He has been offered a new contract to extend his Merseyside stay. But the 37-year-old admitted earlier this year he was keen to return to Spain.

Adrian’s Future In Spain?

Adrian is finalising his deal to join Real Betis in Spain, after a long-term in Anfield. Adrian is set to rejoin the club he came through the youth ranks. As per ABC, Adrian is ‘finalising’ his move to Betis.

With Adrian leaving the Reds, reports suggest that Liverpool have turned down a loan bid from Vitoria Guimaraes for fellow keeper Fabian Mrozek.

Liverpool might require the third-choice keeper for the future in case Allison and Kelleher get injured.
