Well-known media outlet Marca has reported that Liverpool, unlike Spanish giants Barcelona, does not have financial restrictions on their hands and could possibly activate the £51 million release clause which is active until July 15. Marca stated,

“The problem for Barcelona is that at this moment they cannot take the step to sign the player. The club is still restricted by Financial Fair Play and there is currently no space in the squad’s salary bill for Olmo to enter.”
