All Liverpool Players Who’ll Be Taking Part In Euro & Copa America 2024

As the 2023-24 club football season came to an end, the bells for international games and tournaments have rung. Several Liverpool players will be ready to represent their national teams in the Euro 2024 and Copa America 2024.

The Merseyside club bid goodbye to German boss Jurgen Klopp in an emotional farewell at Anfield as the 2023-24 season drew to a close.

The club has also officially confirmed the appointment of Arne Slot as his successor. The Dutchman will be taking charge of the Reds from June 1st and is ready to make necessary arrangements for the smooth commencement of the 2024-25 season.

The summer transfer window will inevitably be busy for the English giants. However, many of the existing players will be out with their respective national teams for the upcoming international tournaments.

The Euro 2024 competition will be held from 14 June to 14 July with Germany and Scotland kicking off the tournament and the Copa America will be held from 21 June to 15 July with Argentina and Canada kicking off the tournament.

Liverpool Players In Euro 2024 & Copa America

After the climax to a hectic season, several key LFC players will be out on international duties. Let’s take a look at who all are putting in the extra shifts.

Euro Participants:

1. Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands):

The Reds’ skipper has been the captain of the Dutch national team for a long time. As the Flying Dutchmen have qualified for the Euro 2024, Van Dijk is ready to lead the team against Poland, Austria and France in Group D.

2. Trent Alexander-Arnold (England):

The Liverpool vice-captain has joined the Three Lions 33-player provisional squad and has been in training.

Gareth Southgate, the England Men’s national team manager, uses Trent as a midfielder instead of a fullback. It will be interesting to see him play in midfield once the tournament begins.

3. Joe Gomez (England):

Completing one of his best Liverpool seasons, the English defender has been called up by Southgate for training sessions and international friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland.

4. Jarell Quansah (England):

The young Liverpool defender joined the England squad for his first senior call-up. As Southgate is bound to submit the 26-men squad list by June 7, Quansah’s selection hangs by a thread.

5. Ibrahima Konate (France):

Van Dijk’s centre-back companion is a crucial member of the Les Bleus squad and often a starter under Didier Deschamps. Konate’s country would face Poland, Netherlands and Austria in Group D.

6. Andy Robertson (Scotland):

The reliable Reds left-back is the skipper of the Scottish national team. As Scotland will take on Germany, Hungary and Switzerland in the group stage games of Group A, Robertson will lead his nation on the international stage.

7. Curtis Jones (England):

Similar to Quansah, the Liverpool academy midfield prodigy has been called up for the 33-player provisional squad, gaining his first senior national call-up.

8. Ryan Gravenberch (Netherlands):

Virgil van Dijk’s compatriot, Ryan Gravenberch, has also been selected for the Euro. The young midfielder will surely make a few appearances on the pitch, donning the Oranje shirt.

9. Dominik Szoboszlai (Hungary):

The Hungarian No. 10 is the captain of his country and will lead his team against Germany, Scotland and Switzerland in Group A. As Szoboszlai has struggled with his form in the past few months, the Euros will serve as a golden opportunity for him to shine.

10. Diogo Jota (Portugal):

Cristiano Ronaldo’s compatriot, Jota, will be a part of the Portuguese national team under the no. 7’s leadership. They will face Turkey, Georgia and Czech Republic in Group F.

11. Cody Gakpo (Netherlands):

After an impressive season with Liverpool, Gakpo will be an indispensable force in the Dutch attacking front. Ronald Koeman would use him as a lethal weapon against opponents against Germany, Scotland and Switzerland.

Copa America Participants:

1. Alisson Becker (Brazil):

The Liverpool No. 1 is also the No. 1 for the Brazilian national team. Alisson will be in charge of keeping the ball off the net between the sticks against Colombia, Paraguay, and Costa Rica in Group D stage matches.

2. Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina):

One of the top-performing Liverpool players this season, Mac Allister will continue to impress with his form on the international stage. The World Cup-winning Argentine side will be the favourites to win the competition.

3. Darwin Nunez (Uruguay):

Despite having a not-so-good season with the Merseysiders, Nunez still remains a crucial national team player. The Copa America competition will be his chance to regain the trust of the club and the fans with his performances against USA, Panama and Bolivia in Group C matches.

4. Luis Diaz (Colombia):

The fast and flashy winger will be back on the pitch with his skills and flair with the Columbian national team. Diaz will be playing against Brazil, Paraguay and Costa Rica in Group D matches.

Other Players On International Duty

Even though Mohamed Salah’s Egypt and Wataru Endo’s Japan will not be participating in these competitions, their national teams will be playing World Cup qualifier matches in the meantime.

Liverpool will definitely have a busy summer on a tactical level but the players will have a more physically draining summer thanks to Euro and Copa America.
