Liverpool skipper, Jordan Henderson is on the verge of joining Saudi Arabian outfit, Al-Ettifaq and could be unveiled in the next 24 hours.
Jordan Henderson has seemingly been captured training with Al-Ettifaq in Croatia. Despite Liverpool having not yet confirmed the departure of their captain, he is training with his new teammates.
He is expected to be unveiled by the Saudi club in the next 24 hours after having decided to part ways with Liverpool after 12-years.
The Reds last week agreed on a deal worth an initial £12 million for the 33-year-old with Al-Ettifaq. The club earlier this month also appointed Henderson’s former team-mate, Steven Gerrard as manager.
Henderson has left Liverpool already
After agreeing to leave Liverpool to join the Saudi outfit, Henderson seems to have joined his new teammates already.
A video circulating on social media on Wednesday afternoon appeared to show Henderson working with his new team-mates in their pre-season training camp in Croatia.
Having swiftly gone viral, the footage was then deleted within half an hour.
Liverpool, though, have yet to officially state the player has left the club. Moreover, Al-Ettifaq also have not yet confirmed his arrival on any of their public channels.
The bizarre turn of events likely signals the end of Henderson’s time with the Reds. And it is now confirmed that the England international has agreed on a lucrative deal with the Saudi Arabian outfit.
Henderson will soon be joined in moving to the country by Liverpool midfielder Fabinho. His £40m move to Al-Ittihad is back on track after the clubs were negotiating a payment plan for the Brazil international.
Moreover, there have been tributes pouring over for the Liverpool skipper from fans and club journalists alike.
Even Fabrizio Romano confirmed his departure and said that Hendo has already told his goodbyes to the fans.
However, it is now to be seen whom Klopp would sign to fill in the void.
There have been talks that Romeo Lavia is the one coming in for the next season. However, it is still to be seen as things might take a bizarre turn.
