Premier League club Nottingham Forest has identified Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher as a target for deadline day. Liverpool have already rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest on Thursday.
Liverpool are not looking to sell the 25-year-old this summer, but if Nottingham Forest come back with a better bid the Reds might be inclined to sell.
If Kelleher leaves on deadline day, Liverpool will have to look for a new No.2 before transfer window closes.
Nottingham Forest interested in kelleher
Kelleher trained as normal as the Reds prepare to face Manchester United on Sunday. Liverpool youth goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga is set to join Scottish Premiership side Livingston on loan.
According to Paul Joyce: “Liverpool have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Caoimhin Kelleher . Offer well below Liverpool’s valuation and the club was not looking to sell.”
The proposed deal from Forest was to send goalkeeper Matt Turner plus cash to Liverpool for Caoimhin Kelleher. Liverpool values Caoimhin Kelleher upwards of £25million, Nottingham Forest’s bid was well low of Liverpool’s valuation as Joyce reported.
Kelleher will want to leave in search of more playing time and Nottingham Forest will be a good option for him. Liverpool’s current third choice who replaced Adrian is Vitezslav Jaros who is yet to feature for the first team.
Arne Slot has revealed in today’s press conference that he does not expect any more incoming unless a good opportunity presents itself. However, Nat Philips, Kaide Gordon, and Ben Doak are expected to leave on loan deals and possibly Kelleher also might leave on loan to Nottingham Forest.
