Liverpool could potentially make a move for 20-year-old Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga this summer, who is having an impressive breakthrough season in La Liga with nine goals and three assists.
He has a release clause of €40m with three years left on his contract. Veiga has recently changed his agents too and his new agent may look for a move for him.
Clubs in the pursuit of Gabri Veiga
According to TeamTalk, the 20-year-old midfielder is “loved” by Liverpool, who are one of the main teams interested in his signature.
Many English clubs, including United, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle, are pursuing his signatures, courtesy of his stellar performances. So it seems he is a man in serious demand.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are seeing him as a perfect backup option for Bruno Fernandes.
Real Madrid, who are the current Champions League holders, have now joined the competition to sign him.
However, the possibility of his signing will depend on whether one of the three players, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, or Dani Ceballos, departs from the club.
Veiga the answer to the Reds’ midfield crisis?
Given Liverpool’s need to strengthen their midfield, it’s expected that numerous reports will emerge in the lead-up to the summer transfer window.
Jude Bellingham, the Borussia Dortmund standout, is currently the most heavily linked player with a move to Anfield.
However, with Real Madrid and Manchester City lurking, it’s unlikely that any confirmation regarding his transfer will be announced anytime soon.
It means Liverpool are having to look at plenty of other potential targets to bring in instead of, or possibly alongside, the Englishman.
Veiga has the versatility to play as an attacking midfielder or as a deeper midfielder and has a brilliant eye for goal.
Liverpool may have been scouting Veiga when he scored two braces since the beginning of February, which could explain their increased interest in the 20-year-old.
While it’s unlikely that a player of Veiga’s caliber will remain at Celta Vigo for his entire career, signing a new contract could ensure that he stays with the club for at least another year.
Unfortunately, with so many top clubs interested, it could soon become a lot harder to sign the Celta Vigo star.
Liverpool may need to fend off competition from other interested parties and ensure that Veiga does not sign a new contract, as securing his signature could be crucial for the club.
