Liverpool looks to complete the deal with ‘Darwin Nunez’ as personal terms have also been agreed upon.

Darwin Nunez, who recently played two games and scored in both against Liverpool seems to have caught the attention of the manager. The Uruguayan player showed sheer class in both the games against the Reds.

Liverpool have reportedly made a whopping offer of €78million for the youngster, as they look positive to land him at Anfield.

Darwin Nunez opportunity at Liverpool

Darwin Nunez could be brought up straight into the Liverpool starting XI if some players failed to renew their contracts. Since the future of Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi at Liverpool seems closer to ending he could be a crucial addition in the squad.

Nunez has what people call the ‘raw talent’, strong in his attributes and very skilful as well.

Roping in a young player who’s only 22-year-old shows the long-term vision of the Reds. As they look to be more consistent each season while increasing the depth in their squad.

Nunez current form & offer from the Reds

The Uruguayan has been stellar for his current team Benfica, consistent throughout the season.

Nunez has already scored 31 goals from 36 appearances this season for Benfica, and he’s only 22.

The Money Matters,

Liverpool have reportedly offered him double his current wages, for a four-year deal.

The player is currently waging £31,000/week at Benfica, and the Reds have offered to double the amount. So, it would see him earn £62,000/week at Liverpool according to their offer.

The price at which Liverpool are getting this player could be worth every penny considering the talent of the 22-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp’s take on the ‘excellent player’

Liverpool manager Klopp in a press conference went on to speak about The Uruguayan,

(Darwin Núñez is) “Physically strong, quick, was calm around his finish when he finished the goal off.” (Against Liverpool)

“Good, really good. Obviously how you say in these situations, if he stays healthy, it’s a big career ahead of him”,

Said Jurgen Klopp

Getting in a midfielder would help Klopp in squad rotation, given the constant fitness worries of current players. Moreover, since their core midfielders and forwards are in their 30s getting in a young player would be really useful.
